CFPOA Who Are We is closed

The Canadian Fire Prevention Officers’ Association is pleased to welcome members from the fire service encompassing public education, fire inspection and fire investigators.

Our Objectives:

The objectives and purposes of the Canadian Fire Prevention Officers’ Association shall be to unite, through our members-only website and other electronic media, those public officials engaged primarily in the prevention of fire (through inspection or public education) or the investigation of fire, or both.

To provide a platform for discussion and the expedient exchange of information by its members concerning laws, codes, regulations, inspections and education related to the cause, prevention and spread of fire and to the escape from fire and a platform for answering concerns faced in communities nation-wide.

To share existing ways and means, and to promote and develop new ways and means for improving all matters concerning the preservation of life and the protection of property from fire.   Because fire prevention sometimes gets ‘lost’ over fire suppression, a national Fire Prevention Officers’ Association is better equipped to understand the concerns and workings of fire prevention issues. Although many department heads have excellent intentions of passing along information gathered for FPO’s, most are extremely busy with other aspects of their jobs. Having a single source for information by and for FPO’s makes sense.

Membership in this organization is currently free, and will be kept that way as long as possible.  We encourage members to participate fully in the forums and discussion boards as they become available, and to access our Twitter and other electronic media accounts to share successes, concerns and questions regarding issues pertaining to FPO’s.

Thank you for your consideration
